Cathedral of the Incarcarnation
Do not miss the charm of the Monumental Center of Almeria.
The Cathedral of Almería - Cathedral of the Incarnation-
Located in the historic center of Almeria and built after a great earthquake that ravaged Almeria in 1522 and destroyed the old Great Mosque on which the original cathedral was built, it is late Gothic style. Its great differentiating element was the double function that inspired its design, on the one hand serving as a fortress for the defense against the frequent attack of Turkish and Berber pirates, and its ecclesiastical function, being destined to serve as a cathedral. Its construction ends in the year 1564, and Renaissance style.

Visiting the Cathedral of Almeria means taking a tour through the more than 2,000 years of Christianity in this city of rich cultural heritage and delight in an unique construction of incalculable artistic value.
